Jewelweed Soap

Jewelweed soap is made with jewelweed extract, castor oil, sunflower oil,  cocoa and shea butters as well as palm kernel flakes. We add jewelweed to soothe skin irritations. Itch relief is augmented with tea tree, chamomile and bergamot essential oils. Keep one ready for taming skin discomfort after a hunting and hiking trip.

Dealing with skin irritations can be frustrating. Dry skin is the most common cause of skin irritation. Severe skin irritation due to dryness is most prevalent during the winter season. There are some basic choices we need to make for our first line of defense against cold weather propagated skin irritations.

First, choosing the right soap for a bath is key. Not all skin care products are good for your skin. It gets worse if the skin is already irritated. You can get relief from cold processed soaps that retain all the emollient glycerin produced during saponification. Soaps enriched with moisturizers, exfoliators, or natural anti-itch herbs are even better.

Second avoid synthetic chemical additives, which are common in most mass produced soaps. Chemical additives can make a bad situation worse.

Third, avoid long, hot baths. A lukewarm shower for a few minutes is sufficient to keep your skin hydrated.
